Following their self-entitled debut release, Tribali are back with their second album named ’The Elephants of Lanka’. This was announced at a press conference held at the Wine Theatre on Wednesday, 22nd April. Securing their place as one of Malta`s leading artists, Tribali have come a long way since the launch of a very successful debut album in May 2006, topping the sales charts at a number one position for several months and a string of highly popular performances both locally and abroad namely Glastonbury and The Blues Festival in Australia.
Howard Keith from Jagged House (Tribali’s management) who was also responsible for the production announced that ‘The Elephants of Lanka’ will be out for sale at all Exotique, D’Amato and Aw Tribu outlets on Friday 24th April and available from www.Jaggedhouse.com on the 13th of May “The band worked really hard these past months, challenging their artistic boundaries and stopping at nothing to deliver this great album. They managed to cross-over different musical influences very cleverly whilst still maintaining their unique sound,” he added.
Tribali’s past works have also been featured in several compilations and releases under record labels such as World Music Network, Rough guide, digital distribution through Petrol Records as well as Songlines magazine, Maramundi RDE radio and featured a 1 hour interview on BBC radio 2 in Uk who are also playing a track from Tribali’s new album.
The band started working on their 2nd album last October where they delved into an even more energy-driven, varied musical palette to satisfy the most discerning of senses. Their roots have never been so evident and yet so refreshingly served as in this album. Peter Paul from Tribali said “ this was an incredible journey for all of us and the result is beyond our expectations. We’d like to thank all those who worked on this album in some way or other but most of all we’d like to thank all those who have shown their support through the years.”
Howard Keith pointed out “Although Tribali is not your typical radio band, making it more difficult to promote, it seems a lot of people are eagerly awaiting this album. However we would like to encourage radio stations to be more adventurous in their choice of genres .
It was further announced that “The Elephants of Lanka” will be available for full track download and single track download from Jagged House new web site on May13th. Tribali’s first performance this year will be on the 23rd of May at Earth Garden.
