After emerging as a most aspiring local artist, Airport Impressions announce their first EP release ‘Seeing with eyes closed’. Airport Impressions have come a short but very impressive way into the local music scene. In a span of one year, they released four number one hits on local airwaves, and won three awards in their year of inception. They surprised loads by reaching number one spot with their first single ‘Beside You’ but never looked back from there on. All the other three singles which followed climbed up to the top position on Malta’s top 10. This EP ‘Seeing with eyes closed’ features all the four commercial/alternative rock hits previously released (Beside You, Wake Up, Genuine and Borderline) and a fresh track ‘The air we breathe’. The latter was recorded in Germany and portraits the passion these lads have for music.
Howard Keith from Jagged House (Airport Impression’s management) announced that ‘Seeing with Eyes Closed’ will be out for sale at all Exotique and D’Amato outlets on Monday 14th September and is already available from www.Jaggedhouse.com as full track download and single track download. Meanwhile, when asked about the name of this EP release, Johann (guitarist) replied “Basically it follows the Airport Impressions concept. The name of this band denotes thoughtful moments. Where as ‘Seeing with eyes closed’ implies the feeling of those thoughts. To see something with eyes closed means you need to feel it, and we like to see music in that way”.
Following their impressive performances at the Farsons Great Beer Festival and the Gozo Music Festival this summer, the band started working on their 1st album to be released in 2010. Errol (singer) added: ‘We’re proud that our efforts, passion for music and art are now transposed into this tangible EP release, making it easier to distribute and reach more listeners. We would like to thank all those who worked on this EP and all out there who have shown their support’.
