Many opportunities present themselves within the world of music licensing – motion pictures, television, documentaries, soundtracks, commercials, etc. The music you hear in motion picture trailers, commercials, and background scenes are all “licensed” from songwriters, composers, publishers, and record labels. We have licensed various songs successfully with our clients. Besides licensing songs in both master and non-master licenses we also manage artists to secure license deals with record labels, digital distribution & other license rights.
Through our experience most licensing companies will be interested in both the “Synch” and the “Master” license. They will want to use the existing music as is, and will not go to the expense or trouble to re-record. Those that license music are looking for music that is well produced with broadcast quality sound. Although your music cannot be expected to sound like a major record label release, where the recording budgets can go into thousands of EUR, it doesn’t mean that your music should sound like a "home demo" but have a high quality if you are seriously trying to license it.
Our job is to place your music in our wide network and negotiate a license deal on your behalf. This is done with your consent and approval and we only take a cut from the amount concluded however many lower budgeted projects have a fixed amount that they are willing to pay. There are also more and more new independent filmmakers who will pay nothing for using your music. In some cases compilations might be for promotional benefit and therefore won’t have any royalties distributed. Nonetheless the industry has shifted to various sectors where we can actually license and/or attribute to other financial compensations. |
